October brings us the second set of eclipses for 2014. During April we had the grand cardinal cross pattern with a Sun in Aries, Moon in Libra, lunar eclipse and a Sun – Moon Solar eclipse in Taurus. On a personal level there were shifts and changes required as attention was drawn to the nature of our relationships. During the intervening months we will have had to balance the desire for partnership with our needs as an individual.
This month the lunar eclipse gives the reverse positions with a Libra Sun and Aries Moon. Expect further opportunity to resolve any “us verses them” issues and balance personal drives with those of others. There is also a very strong theme being created during the first week of the month as a grand fire trine pattern develops between Uranus in Aries, Mars in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Leo. This is an exciting combination of action, freedom and inspirational energies working well together. Although it could be a volatile mix, the trend will be towards breaking away from restrictions that limit freedom of self expression. The autonomous nature of Uranus is joined with the Moon during the Lunar eclipse. Along with the Sun, Mars and Jupiter this forms a dynamic kite pattern. The instinctual urge could mean a final shift away from negative patterns so that the joys of a greater, more soulful connection can be experienced.
Whilst a lunar eclipse affects people most strongly on a personal level we can also expect some unusual or disruptive events to occur on a world level. Events around this time will somehow divert what seemed like an inevitable outcome or effectively change the course of history in some way.
The second eclipse of October is the Solar event in Scorpio on 23rd which follows on from the Taurus Solar eclipse of last April. With the Sun, Moon and Venus all entering Scorpio together just hours beforehand there is added energy behind this eclipse. The very intense and focussed force of this sign can bring whatever has been concealed out of the shadows where it has previously been able to lurk and fester and cause potential harm. With Venus in the mix there is a positive and beneficial consequence to be experienced here. But because she is in her sign of detriment and not easily able to express her loving and sociable nature we may have to work extra hard at finding a constructive response during any unfolding dramas in the coming weeks.
The great gift that will come out of this time is the ability to find the best in each other rather than allow a defensiveness or distrust to overshadow basic human goodness. There may well be an important choice to make later this month. Either let fear or negative suggestions from others (or our internal dialogue) influence the next step or move to a level of clarity and goodwill, rise above the drama and act from a place of revived strength.
