A horoscope chart is calculated from the time and place of your birth or the time and place of an event. The “reading” is a process of interpreting the chart.

Calculating a chart for a pressing question can give a very direct response. It is a very reliable tool and can be used to answer yes or no questions, describe the outcome of a matter, find lost items and give some indication of timing.

The chart is drawn up for the time (or birth) of the question. This is the time that your question is received by the Astrologer rather than when you first think of consulting on the matter.

Use the contact form to get in touch and request your reading. I’ll respond, usually by email within about 24 hours, with options for your appointment. Once we have agreed on a suitable appointment time you can make your payment.

You can use your bank card and pay online via PayPal through my shop. Alternatively, I can send you the details to make a bank transfer. I also accept cash and postal money orders. A sliding scale is available for selected consultations.

I need your name and contact details, email and phone. If you are booking a birth chart reading, forecast or report I’ll need your birth date in day/month/year format and your birth time as well as your place of birth, the nearest town.

If you want a Horary question report I’ll need your question but not your birth details.

The birth time, and place are needed to calculate the Ascendant – the sign that is rising over the eastern horizon when you were born. The house division of the birth chart depends on knowing the rising sign. The signs move over the horizon in about 2 hours or less and the position of the Moon changes sign every couple of days. If the time used is not accurate some of these important placements may not be correct for you.

A chart can be drawn up for an unknown time but this will leave the more detailed analysis incomplete. Your Ascendant – rising sign can’t be calculated nor can the midheaven and houses.

All is not lost though & there is still a vast amount to be gleaned even without the correct time!

It is possible to have your unknown birth time calculated through a process of chart rectification. This process analyses significant events in your life until a satisfactory indication of the time of birth is achieved. This is a complex and specialised area of astrology but it may be worth considering if you intend to use astrology frequently or for precise timing of predictions.

I offer one to one and phone/video consultations. I mainly focus on birth charts and Horary questions. Your birth chart is the foundation for the other readings available e.g. forecast, relationship reading, or any other personal guidance reading. I also undertake some Elections, Relocation. Meteorological or Mundane work on occasion. So if you have something specific that interests you please ask.

In a typical consultation, I’ll first establish what you most want to get out of your appointment time with me. I’ll describe significant points and placements in your chart. Together we explore the meaning of your chart placements and how they are relevant to your current situation.

Using the information revealed in your birth chart I can describe your personality & potential, spiritual path, life challenges, present trends and future influences. Your birth chart can describe your talents, early life experiences and the family patterns that you are living with. We can see how you relate to others and what you might need or expect in a partner. Most of your life experiences are reflected in your chart.

I don’t predict the future but I do look at what is possible and the probability of certain life events for you. I won’t predict who you will marry or how many children you will have. If you have a specific question about any of these things, a Horary chart my be a good choice for you. There are some things that I don’t look for so I won’t be telling you what the lottery numbers are or what horse will win the race. I don’t look for time of death or length of life. I’m not trained in medical astrology so my ability to discuss health issues is limited to generalities.

This is your time to make the most of my experience with astrology so please do ask questions. I’ll do my best to answer in full or I’ll tell you that I don’t know if that’s the case.

I don’t do predictive astrology in the way that a psychic or tarot reader might. I see your chart as a map that describes the “landscape” and “weather patterns” of your life. I see what is potential and most probable. Free will and personal choice are available to you and your choices affect how your life unfolds. Some events are almost inevitable and others are more fluid.

The birth chart is used as a foundation for both readings but the forecast will focus on future trends coming up in the next 1-2 years. The birth chart reading will focus on your overall life patterns and potentials and challenges. In a longer session, these can be combined.

I live in the west of Ireland, on the Sheep’s Head peninsula in west Co. Cork.

No hidden charges. The fee is paid in advance so you know what you are paying. If you decide to extend the appointment, and I have the time to accommodate this, then you pay me for that at the time this is agreed.

The money you pay me is for my time. The hour or more that I spend with you is only a portion of the time I give to your consultation. There will have been 1-2 hours, or more, to prepare and study your charts before we meet. There is also time given to answer your queries, arrange your appointment and any follow-up emails with reports etc. So as you see, there is a lot of background work invested in each reading.

This is up to you and your relationship with astrology. There is no real rule for this. Some clients like to come back every year for an annual reading. Anyone going through intense or significant periods of life, or simply wanting to use astrology for personal development work, may consult me every few weeks or several times in a year. I’ve had clients return after 20 years and some I never see again

Generally, it is not recommended to have a reading about someone else but there are exceptions if there is a valid reason. The consent of the other person needs to be obtained in advance.

Yes, I do give readings to parents in a few circumstances. If there are tensions or specific challenges in the family, a consultation to explore both the parent and child charts may give valuable insights. A parent may accompany an older child if they have an interest in learning about their own chart. For parents of newborns, I offer the Child Star written report which can also be given as a gift to new parents.

Yes, if consent is obtained in advance for each birth chart involved a family can explore the interplay between them, from the viewpoint of astrology. Please contact me to discuss your requirements before you commit to payment.
